Monsoon Mondays- The Beauty Edit

Just wing it. Life, Eyeliner, Everything.

Makeup is oftentimes considered superficial but for us it is nothing short of art.

As much as we love painting our faces and getting ready for the day, wearing makeup in the monsoon can be a little tricky. After all the effort you put into blending, winging, baking etc, the last thing you want is for it all to be running down your face! (Unless you’re inspired by Salvador Dali and that’s the look you’re going for.)

Here are some tips that will keep you looking glam this season

  • For the base, we recommend something light and sheer like a BB or CC cream instead of a full coverage foundation because if you happen to get drenched in the rains, you’re face wont look muddy or patchy like in the case of most foundations.
  • Wearing waterproof eyeliner and mascara is a no brainer this season.
  • To add that little flush of colour we recommend going for a lip and cheek stain instead of powdered blushes.

The goal is to keep the look minimal and fresh and not pile on too many layers of product on your face.

It of course is a little sad to trade in your ultra glam makeup routine for this basic one, but we at Namaslay have come up with a few things that you can do this season, to add that drama to your makeup!

Here Karishma trades in the classic black wing for this orange one! Adding that much needed pop of colour! You can also line your lids with a vibrant eye-shadow of your choice by applying it with a wet brush (spray with Mac fix plus) to achieve the same look.

If the gloomy weather makes you feel like you’re a part of the Twilight series, then unleash your inner vampire by opting for a vampy lipstick, like Grishma. This adds that much needed warmth and dimension to your face and prevents you from looking washed out which often happens when you wear nude lipsticks. Since we are keeping the rest of the makeup so minimal, a dark lip will save you from looking Basic AF.
