This was hands down one of our most comfortable shoot till date! With our night suits and comfy socks on, it was almost a miracle how Karishma did not pass out while shooting these. On second thought, she kind of did. It’s all thanks to these comfy pair of socks. Most of us take socks for granted. We don’t really pay attention to these silent superheroes. There are so many benefits to wearing socks and sleeping that most of us don’t even know about. For instance, did you know that it’s easier to drift off to sleep with a pair of comfy socks on? The reason for that being that when your feet are warm, the blood vessels in the feet dilate, giving your brain the signal that it’s time to snooze. There are so many other benefits of sleeping with your socks on that it’s almost unbelievable that we’ve spent so many years sleeping without them. Some of them being more commonly known than others.
- Ew Repellent: I mean, someone’s got to talk about disgusting stuff for prevention purposes. It’s a fact that your feet have almost 2,50,000 sweat glands (eww!) which causes a lot of sweat leading to stinky feet. Socks are known to absorbing this giant amount of sweat from your feet and keeping them (and your favourite pair of shoes) fresh. That’s why when guys remove their shoes after an entire day their socks stink so much. Maybe next time you’ll be nice to that guy, after all it’s not his fault.
- Keeping them diseases at bay: It kind of is common sense, but until you read this it wouldn’t have hit you. Socks prevent and decrease the risk of your feet from being exposed to diseases like fungi infections, athlete’s foot etc. that can spread from person to person at gyms or simply by trying on shoes at a store.
- Silky Smooth: Like everyone, we’ve always dreamt of having silky smooth hands and feet. A trick that Karishma uses is that she applies cream (or a thick oil based lotion) onto her feet and palms, petroleum jelly on her nails and cuticles and covers them with socks just before sleeping. Et voila! The next day, she wakes up perfectly hydrated and soft feet, palms and nails.
- Hot & Cold: Whether you’re having hot flashes or breaking out in cold sweats in the night, the cheapest & simplest prevention is by wearing socks. Socks help your body regulate the temperature by keeping it stable overnight and preventing wither hot flashes or cold sweats, which in turn helps you in having a good night’s sleep.
